Cemetery Layout

Jesse enlarged his family cemetery to accommodate burials from other families, and in 1881 his son-in-law George W. Prosser mapped the 5 acres into 9 sections or “blocks,” each containing as many as 60 family plots with spaces for 5 graves. Prosser and two of his wives, Lucy Bullock Prosser and Dena Bronleewe Prosser, are buried in his family plot. Dena’s passing in 1895 drew most of the town’s population of 500, shown here .
